I tend to surf at Mermaid Beach most of the time. The waves are certainly not the best the Gold Coast has to offer, by a long shot. The main reason I surf here though is to avoid the crowds. Its a funny thing, surfing and crowds. There is not a surfer in the world who professes to enjoying surfing in an overly packed line up. Yet as an observation, we often needlessly exacerbate crowding through sheepish behavior (IE. Following the pack).
Are you tired of playing sports that are not that exciting? Do you seek thrills and exhilaration and want to feel challenged and pushed to your limit? If you think you do, then give extreme sports some consideration.
I currently reside on the Gold Coast of Australia, in a tiny suburb by the name of Mermaid Beach. It resembles a big country town and is a sunny, pleasant area to live in. It’s not big enough for a person to get too caught up that they forget about everyday blessings, but not too small that you lose the perks of living in a relatively populated area.
