The advance of the internet has made acquiring die cast models appreciably easier. Previous to the explosion of the world wide web, collectors of scale models would simply have access to their collectibles through word of mouth, catalogs, clubs, and social associates. Through these times, collectors may have enjoyed the friendship of their hobby a bit more, but would very rarely have access to rare die cast models that captured their interest. For most die cast model collectors, their merely exposure to their collectibles was magazines, pictures and word of mouth.
