The Good Shepherd: Clutching tale of a spiritually censored youthful guy who is enlisted at Yale to do espionage work throughout WW2 and then to join the secret intelligence agency that would eventually become the CIA, even though it means an astronomical sacrifice to his family life. Damon is phenomenal and a well selected cast fills all the roles very well. Cast includes Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, Tammy Blanchard, Billy Crudup, Robert De Niro, and John Turturro. The Wedding Singer: Robbie has just been dumped, right before he was supposed to get married. He resumes his job as a wedding singer, but is miserable and depressed. Night of the Blood Monster: Lee is fine as Magistrate Jeffrey’s who is a vicious judge presiding over “Bloody Assizes” after the Monmouth Revolt opposing Baron James II. The film itself is monotonous and grisly. Cast includes Christopher Lee, Maria Schell, Leo Genn, Maria Rohm, and Margaret Lee. (84 minutes,’70)

Alakazam the Great: Japanese-made animation is excellent for entertaining the kids. The tale is focused around the supernatural baboon’s ambitious ventures, from a bullfight in the pit of a volcano to a mythical battle with Hercules. Cast includes Frankie Avalon, Arnold Stang, and Sterling Holloway. (84 minutes,’61)

The Royal Tenenbaums: Depicted by Alec Baldwin, the no good Hackman dropped his spouse and 3 prodigy youngsters long ago, however now the need to make up lost time is apparent, especially since he’s flat broke. Ranting comedy has similar likable, offbeat attributes as the film makers’ Bottle Rocket. Cast includes Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Bill Murray, and Danny Glover. (108 minutes, 2001)

Liar Liar: Fletcher Reede is a hard working lawyer who is constantly disappointing his wonderful young son. Eventually, before blowing out the candles at his birthday, Max makes his wish. He wants his father to not be able to lie for one full day. The results are absolutely hilarious.

Marjorie Morningstar: Wood is only satisfactory as Herman Wouk’s heroine in this story of a N.Y.C. gal striving for greatness although ending up a suburban housewife, with Kelly being her summer romance. Cast includes Gene Kelly, Natalie Wood, Claire Trevor, Ed Wynn, Everett Sloane, Carolyn Jones, Martin Milner, Martin Balsam, and Ruta Lee. (123 minutes,’58)

Rentadick: Out of the nether-land between The Goon Show and Monty Python comes this romp written by Python buddies John Cleese and Graham Chapman, spoofing the classic private-detective films. An experimental nerve gas that paralyzes people from the waist down has been stolen, and Rentadick, Inc. is employed to track down the perpetrators. Cast includes Jim Clark, James Booth, Julie Ege, Ronald Fraser, Donald Sinden, Michael Bentine, Richard Briers, and Spike Milligan. (94 minutes,’72)

Do The Right Thing: This is a Spike Lee Directed film. On a hot summer day in a Brooklyn neighborhood, things are heating up. With various people from different races and cultures, all struggling with their own, or each other’s problems, things have reached a boiling point. The crescendo of which is a racially motivated outbreak of violence.
