Here’s the fundamental trick, as it looks like to your audience. You hold a normal deck of cards, and fan it out, like they would expect. Then you command them to pick a card, any card. They choose card, and you tell them to consider it cautiously, and present it to their friends. After they place it back in the deck, you puzzlingly pluck it right out. They will be startled, and think you have powerful extrasensory powers.

Here’s how to do the caper. While they are busily studying their card, you divide the deck, and create a place for them to set their card. All you need to do is take a immediate peak at the card that you will place on top of theirs.
