Are You Plagued By Panic Attacks And General Anxiety

Your chest hurts, only the doctor has told you that everything is fine, you’re not having a heart attack. Your body says something different. Your heart is beating like a scared rabbit’s in your chest. You’re sure that others can sense what you’re going through. Are you tired of being a victim to general anxiety?

You know that panic attacks are not life threatening, but when you find yourself in the grips of one, it feels exactly like you’re going to die. A terrible feeling that something bad is about to happen almost knocks you for a loop.

Some of the symptoms of panic attacks include heart palpitations, light-headedness, dizziness, shallow breathing and pain in the chest.

If you’ve recently undergone an emotional trauma or have unresolved emotions — these are often to be considered the triggers of panic attacks. This does not mean you have to go to a shrink and get your head examined to get relief from panic attacks or high anxiety.

Add to your panic attacks the fear that you may have one at work or some other “inappropriate” place. This may make it hard to concentrate on what you need to do. Be compassionate with yourself, but it is quite common to become agitated and generally restless in such a situation.

To reduce the psychological distress caused by a panic attack, it’s a good idea to eat a balanced and healthy diet — get plenty of rest — and exercise daily. Believe it or not, this will keep the angst at bay — at least for a while.

Don’t forget to take a moment and breathe deeply and slowly — this technique can also work in the event of a panic attack. And if the doctor gives you drugs to take — remember they will only work a little while before you body builds up a resistance against them. Taking more is not the solution — nor are the consequences of taking such drugs.
