Perfumes and Colognes reflect the intensity of aromatic compounds in a mix of ethanol and water. The most common intensities used by perfumers are parfum, eau de parfum, eau de toilette, eau de cologne. Parfum has between 15% to 25% of aromatic compounds; eau de parfum has between 10% and 20%; eau de toilette has between 4% to 15%; and eau de cologne has between 2% and 5%. Ageless Fantasy Perfume has the eau de toilette intensity, hence has between 4% to 15% of aromatic compounds.
All perfumes and colognes can be classified into one of fourteen different Families according to the Fragrance Wheel. The Fragrance Wheel is a classification system, which was created by Michael Edwards in 1983. Ageless Fantasy by Harvey Prince is a member of the Floral Family. What separates this Family from the others is its more distinctive use of freshly cut flowers.
There are four more subdivisions within each Fragrance Family. These subdivisions are called Fresh, Crisp, Classical, and Rich. Fresh is the brightest and highest interpretation of the Family, and Rich is the deepest and richest interpretation. This Harvey Prince fragrance is part of the Crisp interpretation of the Floral Family.
Each perfume and cologne goes through three different phases described as Top, Middle, and Base Notes. These phases are due to the different evaporation rates of all the Fragrance Notes within the perfume’s or cologne’s composition. Therefore, during the life of Ageless Fantasy, certain phases will have a slightly different scent depending on which fragrance notes are still present, and which ones have already evaporated.
Top Notes are light, volatile and evaporate quickly. They are a fragrance’s initial impression and last around 10 to 20 minutes. The Top Notes for Ageless Fantasy Perfume are Mango and Pineapple.
Middle Notes are the most dominant, and usually last for the majority of the perfume’s life. The Middle Notes for Ageless Fantasy by Harvey Prince are Cherry Blossom and Jasmine
The Base Notes for this Harvey Prince fragrance include Musk. This is the longest lasting qualities and help to slow down the evaporation of the lighter notes.
