An Exclusive Look At The Perfume Acqua Di Gio for Women

In 1996, the perfume Acqua Di Gio for Women was launched by the designer Giorgio Armani. The perfumer behind this creation was Alberto Morillas.

Acqua Di Gio Women is available in the eau de toilette. Fragrances generally come in one of four types of concentrations: eau de cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and parfum. Eau de cologne is made up of about 2% to 5% perfume oil; eau de toilette, about 4% to 15% perfume oil; eau de parfum, about 10% to 20% perfume oil; and parfum, about 15% to 25% perfume oil. Therefore, the percentage of perfume oil in Acqua Di Gio is between 4% and 15%.

According to the Michael Edwards Fragrance Wheel classification system, all fragrances fall into one of fourteen Families. Acqua Di Gio Perfume belongs to the Floral Family. This Family is made distinct from the other fourteen Families by its more dominant use freshly cut flowers.

There are four more subdivisions within each Fragrance Family. These subdivisions are called Fresh, Crisp, Classical, and Rich. Fresh is the brightest and highest interpretation of the Family, and Rich is the deepest and richest interpretation. Acqua Di Gio Perfume is part of the Fresh interpretation of the Floral Family.

Each perfume and cologne goes through three different phases described as Top, Middle, and Base Notes. These phases are due to the different evaporation rates of all the Fragrance Notes within the perfume’s or cologne’s composition. Therefore, during the life of Acqua Di Gio for Women, certain phases will have a slightly different scent depending on which fragrance notes are still present, and which ones have already evaporated.

The Top Notes for Acqua Di Gio Women consists of Lemon, Musk Vodka, Banana Leaf, Pineapple, Peach, Violet, and Peony. These fragrance notes evaporate quickly, only lasting up to 20 minutes.

Middle Notes are the most dominant, and usually last for the majority of the perfume’s life. The Middle Notes for Acqua Di Gio Perfume are Lily, Freesia, Jasmine, Hiacynth, Ylang-ylang, and Lily of the Valley.

The Base Notes are the longest lasting qualities of a perfume. The Base Notes for Acqua Di Gio Perfume are Sandalwood, Amber, Musk, Cedar, and Styrax.

Here are some suggestions of other fragrances you may like that are in the Floral Family just as Acqua Di Gio for Women: Euphoria Blossom for Women, 24 Faubourg for Women, Wings for Women, Versus for Women, and The Beat for Women.
