Every country is known to have their home sport which is watched and played the most. For Americans, the sport is baseball. With there being so many teams in the current baseball league, one that has been known to stand out quite a lot are the Los Angeles Dodgers. As you may have already guessed from the name, the Los Angeles Dodgers are a baseball team that is based in Los Angeles, California.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been around for quite some time now. They were known to become part of the major baseball league in the year 1883. This particular team was known to originate from New York in this particular year. It wasn’t until the season of 1932 when the team moved to California and earned its nickname as the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have already won a number of titles in various leagues and divisions. The one that stands out the most is the current record of having 21 wins in the National League. The team is always expanding by bringing in new talent. The Los Angeles Dodgers are favorites to win at least one piece of silverware this year as well.
Even though most other teams have been known to constantly change their uniform year in year out, the Los Angeles Dodgers have remained quite persistent in their uniform design. Their current home uniform is a white trouser and white shirt. The shirt is like any other standard baseball shirt with white buttons. The team name, “Dodgers”, runs across the front part of the jersey. The teams cap insignia is quite popular amongst the fans as well. This is made of two letters, “L” and “A” symbolizing Los Angeles.
The team logo for the Los Angeles Dodgers is simple but unique. The current Los Angeles Dodgers logo is the word “Dodgers” written in an italic font. The word it self is in a diagonal layout. There is a baseball image in the top right hand corner of the logo win shot streaks shining down on to the word “Dodgers”. The color combination used for the logo is red and blue.
Many famous players have retired from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The two names that are still remembered to date include number one Pee Wee Reese and number two Tommy Lasorda. Pee Wee Reese was the team coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers until 1984 where he retired.
