Songkran Festival: This annual festival, which starts on April-th and lasts between 3 and 10 days depending on which part of Thailand you are in, is the highlight of the year for many Thai people. ‘Songkran’ is taken from Sanskrit, which means the beginning of the new Solar Year. The main way of celebrating this festival is to throw water over as many people as possible and, as such, the whole of Thailand becomes one big water fight battle ground. As this takes place at the hottest time of the year in Thailand, it is not only fun to get involved, it is also refreshing too!

Elephant Nature Park: Elephant parks are plentiful for in Thailand, but one that stands out from the rest is the Elephant Nature Park in northern Thailand. It was built in the’90’s and is set in a gorgeous valley that is surrounded by a river and mountains. The park is located in the province of Chiang Mai, about 60km from the city, and it has provided a home to more than thirty distressed elephants from all over Thailand.
